Like with most things, things year’s Martin Luther King Jr Day was a little bit different. Â
The Atlanta Youth Board has spent MLK Days in the past volunteering at local food banks, joining the MLK Day Parade, or giving back to the community. This year, COVID meant they had to really think outside the box when it came to supporting our local community. Even though they couldn’t be out in the community, there is a group of people who are working hard to make sure we stay safe: healthcare workers. Â
The Atlanta Youth Board decided to spend this MLK Day making sure Atlanta’s healthcare heroes know we appreciate them. Youth Board leaders Will, Aidan, Asha and Mary found several ways we could reach out to doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare workers to thank them, and arranged for the youth board to get together and brainstorm on how best to show their appreciation. Â
